We converted Dower Barn back in 2003. For far too long it had been our garden store and the place where you put the kind of stuff you never use but just know you'll need as soon as you throw it away … what a waste of a 300 year old stone and cob Grade II listed building!
So we found a great team of architects and builders who cleverly fused the old with the new and created a superb contemporary home with state of the art kitchen, fittings and bathrooms that complement the minimalist bedrooms. The magnificent living room runs the entire length of the first floor and provides a fabulously spacious and attractive place in which to lounge, cook and dine.

Since 2005 Dower Barn has been a successful holiday let providing superior accommodation for six people with the fold down sofa on the first floor increasing the possible party size to eight. During this time we have had the pleasure of meeting some fabulous people, wise and experienced and willing to pass on comments and advice. We have acted assiduously on their suggestions and earlier this year were awarded a maximum five star rating from "Visit Britain Self Catering Quality in Tourism". Thanks to all those who made it happen!
We have a no smoking policy and although we are huge dog-lovers, in fact we have three fabulous flatcoated retrievers, the barn is a pet-free zone. Really sorry but an unfortunate experience a couple of years ago resulted in us taking the decision to refuse bookings from stag or hen parties.
